Domesticity, cast plaster, installation, 2014.

Domesticity was a site specific sculpture installed in 2014 in a servants bedroom of Birdsell Mansion- a historic 1800’s abandoned mansion in South Bend, Indiana. The work responds to domestic life; in particular the relational experiences derived through sharing intimate space with another person. Inside the walls of any complex intimate relationship we experience shifts and swells of emotional interaction that enhance, direct, destruct and reveal. Each wall represents an aspect of a relationship- passion/anger, love/companionship, and individuality/stubborn rigidity.
